Mythoverse Comics is the brand designation for the Mythoverse, a creator owned independent shared comic universe founded by Dan Sacharow, Brett McGowan, and Matt Trinh. Heavily steeped in western folklore, mythology, and tradition, the three initial launch titles, Adobe Kroger: Dame Commander, Changeling: an Urban Fairytale, and Mythics, re-imagine timeless tales and creatures in a contemporary urban fantasy setting.

History

The Mythoverse Shared Comic universe was informally founded in 2018, when a fellow creator was placed on Twitter DM restriction while promoting his then current crowdfund. Dan Sacharow set up a Slack workspace for everyone involved in that particular group chat, as a bolthole for that creator to keep in touch.

Over time, only Dan, Brett McGowan, Matt Trinh, and their friend Tank remained in the chat.

Brett and Matt were both developing their own respective comic works, and found through conversation that their two ideas, Changeling: An Urban Fairy Tale and Mythics, worked very well together without any need to rework of the concepts. The idea of sharing the universe developed organically after that.

Dan in the meantime was preparing a six page pitch for Adobe Kroger: Dame Commander, with the intention of pitching to Antarctic Press, Alternacomics, or Image. Eventually, Adobe Kroger and its accompanying world established in Adobe Kroger: Knight Errant became part of the shared universe, now called The Mythoverse.
